ReplyDelete#6 The Young Lions, Brando was a Nazi and Clift American soldier.
#9 The Great Santini (a real favorite of mine)
#10 1st half of question - Hart Bochner, the son of Lloyd Bochner who was in that Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man" (they really look alike.)
Paul, am I right? This is the first trivia where I felt I knew more than one answer!
#8) Ken Howard & Blythe Danner
ReplyDelete#7 could be tricky. The first prime time series in color is generally considered to be the THE MARRIAGE with Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete#5) Marlon Brando & Monty Clift were first considered -- and Paul Newman was too (I think)
ReplyDeleteAre you Martin Milner of Route 66 and Adam 12 fame?
ReplyDelete#1.) Milner did "Own Very Own " & "Marjorie Morningstar" with Natalie Wood.
#6) Brando & Clift did The Young Lions together.
ReplyDeleteOK , Becks (get a hold of your self) all your answers are right, Rick, sorry that's not it. Gliby ,all your answers are correct.
ReplyDeleteGood Work BECKS!
ReplyDeletePS Did I have a moment or what -- Becky already answered 5 & 6 -- Clearly my summer vacation can't come soon enough!
ReplyDeleteIf Rick's answer is incorrect, then I guess Bonanza.
ReplyDelete#2) Ruby & Ossie were in No Way OUT
ReplyDelete#3)Joseph L Mankiewicz who also did a little picture called All About Eve that year too.
VACATION!!!! What's That? Gilby ,I told my wife that most people would guess either WagonTrain or Bonazana both according to IMDb are wrong. #2 and #4 are correct. till for a recap. Still need answers to # 3 (Gilby you answered # 4)#7and the second half on # 10.
ReplyDeleteHEY PAUL -- I DID IT! Gilby, you kill me. I think that is called a brain fade (there is another word for it, but it' not nice). Vacation, oh that sounds good. Let's see, do I remember what that really is? Doesn't it involve going somewhere? I don't recall.....
ReplyDeleteWasn't Richard Widmark one of the stars of No Way Out?
ReplyDeleteBecks, Yes, he was, I need two more please.
ReplyDeleteVacation is the time of year where we teachers take summmer courses or do professional development -- and that's considered "vacation." But seriously, I teach HS Math and I will "officially" have summer vacation. However, I do have to take a course myself in July to prep for the new AP Statistics course my HS is running next year. I guess you can see why I love movies/tv so much -- it's a wonderful departure.
ReplyDeleteNo Way Out also starred Sidney Poitier and Linda Darnell.
ReplyDelete#10 The composer was Jerry Goldsmith. He did one of my favorite movie scores, "Magic" with Anthony Hopkins. Absolutely haunting.
I'm on a roll, Paul!
Gilby and Becks ,your starting to FREAK ME OUT ! LOL. Still need the answer to # 7. BTW I'm "KISSING LA Good By," and leaving the Smog, Interstate 405, 605, and 710 traffic for US 101(The Coast Route) for the fantastic Central Coast and "downtown "Pismo Beach, and wine country.I can't wait. You should Goggle Pismo Beach The Clam Center of the USA.
ReplyDeletePaul, have a wonderful time! Want to hear all about it when you get back.
ReplyDeleteBecks That's just it!!! I'm not coming back.!!! I'm moving to Pismo Beach.
ReplyDeletePaul, you dog! I looked up pictures of Pismo, and it's gorgeous. I didn't realize you were actually moving there. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteYup, this SO CA boy is finally leaving for Central CA It's only 193 miles from here but LIGHTYEARS in lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Paul! I'm not sure I could move from where I am. I live in a NJ suburb which is a stone's throw from Manhattan -- property taxes are high, it's congested, but I love being close to NYC.
ReplyDeleteIs #7 "THe World is Yours" with Ivan Sanderson?
ReplyDeletePaul, I'm a day late. :( Anywhoo... Congrats!! On your move to, Pismo Beach. When is the house warming party?! (wink/wink).
ReplyDeleteDawn, I'l let you now, but you bring your own clams LOL. Gilby ,sorry not it. I'll give everyone a "Big Hint" ,it was a spin off of a famous 20th Ccentury Fox film of the 40's.
ReplyDelete#7 -- MY Friend Flicka?
ReplyDeleteGilby yes that's it, but I still need the "stars"
ReplyDeleteRick ,I stand by Flicka ,if you look at the question I said first FILMED, Series in color. The Marriage was not filmed but a "Live Broadcast ".So while it was the first color series it was not the First Filmed Series, My Friend Flicka is. Good try Rick. I know I'm tricky.
ReplyDeleteWell, the first TV series filmed in color would be THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN with George Reeves. It was broadcast in 1951 and the third season was shot in color (that'd be around 1954). That pre-dates FLICKA. Interestingly, SUPERMAN was not broadcast in color during its original run, but viewers got to appreciate the color episodes when it was syndicated. As for FLICKA (Swedish for "girl"), it might be the first TV series filmed in color and broadcast in color. I love a good controversy, Paul!
ReplyDeleteRick, IMDb has Flicka as the first TV show filmed in color . And that Ficka was shot in color in 1955,but was run on CBS in black & white, When Flicka moved to NBC the next season it was broadcast in "Living Color".
ReplyDeleteI submit to the authority of TRIVIA TIME...plus, Flicka was a real cute horse and deserved to be appreciated in color.
