Here are the answers to the unanswered or partially-answered questions from TT85:
1. In which film did Karl Malden play Natalie Wood's dad? (No, it's not Gypsy.)
Answer: Bomber B-52
2. Who played Natalie Wood's lover and who played her love interest in the film in #1?
Answer: Sorry! We screwed up the question! It should have just asked about ONE love interest, who was Efrem Zimbalist Jr.
3. Name the four films in which Frank Sinatra "buys the farm".
Answers: Becks and DKoren came up with Von Ryan's Express, From Here to Eternity, and The Devil at 4:00. There are at least TWO more, since I had forgotten all about about The Devil at 4:00: Suddenly and Cast a Giant Shadow.
4. Rex Ingram was featured in two films with scores by Miklós Rózsa. Name the films.
Answers: Thief of Baghdad and Sahara.
6. Name the film in which George Takei appeared with Richard Burton.
Answer: Ice Palace.
And here is TT86....have fun!

1. CRY WOLF, with Richard Basehart (one of my fave actors) as Errol's crazy brother who is married to Barbara.
ReplyDelete6. Lynn-Holly Johnson from FOR YOUR EYES ONLY.
Rick, you beat Becks to the Flynn question AGAIN! BTW, Cry Wolf is coming up on TCM next Monday as part of their "Errol block". I would have been really disappointed if you didn't get at least one of the Bond questions!
ReplyDeleteGood job on #s 1 and 6!
My Dad was a huge Errol Flynn movie. In the pre-VCR days, it was an event in our family when one of Errol's films was on TV.
ReplyDelete4. Robert Shaw died in "From Russia With Love" (60's) and "Jaws" (70's) and I think Sean Connery kills him again in "Robin and Marian" (70's) in that great sword fight at the end. I was thinking "Battle of the Bulge" as well, but I think he made it through that one.
ReplyDelete5. "Out of the Past" and "Angel Face" -- don't know the third.
Who Said This In Which Film: Was it Ann Sheridan to Cary Grant in "I Was a Male War Bride"?
ReplyDeleteRick, too bad we weren't neighbors growing up! My Dad was the same way, and we never missed a Flynn movie!
Darn, I'm always forgetting something. JoAnn, I know now that you are trying to kill me with gorgeous pics of gorgeous Flynn -- but what a way to go!
ReplyDeleteDKoren, Robert Shaw does die in Battle of the Bulge, so you are correct about all four for #4! Good job! I would also have accepted The Taking of Pelham 123 as one of '70s films in which he dies.
ReplyDeleteAnd you also got 2 out of 3 for #5! I know there are at least two more possible answers, but only need one to finish off the question. Keep thinking!
LOL Becks, that's one of my favorite Howard Hawks films, but it doesn't contain that particular line! Try again!
Sorry you didn't like the Flynn pic! ;)
OH NO! I didn't express myself properly. I LOVED the picture. In this case, I meant you are killing me because I'm swooning..in a fit of ghastly non-feminism, I would gladly be the dog at his feet...LOL!!
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd give Male War Bride a try....
Tee hee! Becks, don't you know sarcasm when you hear (or read) it?
ReplyDeleteJoAnn and I knew EXACTLY what you meant and both knew that you would swap places with the pooch in a heartbeat!
As to I Was a Male War Bride, great film and good try...
Don't worry Becky, I know that you love the Errol picture! How could you possibly NOT love it?? He's looking exceptionally scrumptious in this one, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteJust take a deep breath and keep your heart meds close at hand when you look at Trivia Time...we don't want any untimely deaths caused by the gorgeous pics of Mr. Flynn, LOL!
Sarcasm is usually my default mode. I must have inadvertently softened.....
