The Movie-TV Connection Game (Dec 2016)

'Tis the holiday season and time for making connections! Given a pair or trio of films or performers, your task is to find the common connection. It could be anything--two stars who acted in the same movie, two movies that share a common theme, etc. As always, don't answer all the questions so others can play, too. There is a single best answer for each question.

    15.Zero Hour and its remake Airplane.
    Stack also played Andrews' role in Laura on tv. Twice.

      That tv tape seems to have vanished. Rumor was Radizwill bought all the copies and destroyed them. I don't remember much of it other than how awful she was. Adaptation by Truman Capote, who was sucking up to society types then.

      ABC wanted a more modern-hunky looking guy - not as brooding as Lansing came across. - Darn it - that killed the series in my option. The depth Lansing brought to his character was terrific I thought.

      Lansing was fired from the show. Quinn Martin hated Lansing and told William Self that he just had to fire Lansing. Self told Martin that if he wanted to fire Lansing, he would have to be replaced with someone who could carry the show. Martin immediately mentioned Paul Burke, and Self approved.

      This is always such an interesting game! The first connection I thought of bareknuckle fights: Eastwood in ANY WHICH WAY YOU CAN and Bronson in HARD TIMES. But all the others are valid and fun.

    #3.....The Young Savages? Apart from that movie , according to Shelley Winters biography, her connection to Burt Lancaster was as close as a connection can get. Alas he was already married.
