The Movie-TV Connection Game (April 2017)

Patrick & Ray: What's their connection?
Along with April showers comes a new edition of one of our most popular features! You will be given a pair or trio of films or performers, your task is to find the common connection. It could be anything--two stars who acted in the same movie, two movies that share a common theme, etc. As always, don't answer all the questions so others can play, too. There is a single best answer for each question.

    #1. McGoohan played the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh and Bolger played the Scarecrow of Oz.

    #9. Cary Grant played an angel in The Bishop's Wife and Michael Landon played an angel in Highway to Heaven.

    #15. They both played television characters who wore a cane and derby hat, Steed and Bat Masterson.

      15. also could be they both played secret agents -- the last year of Burke's Law was revamped and was called Amos Burke Secret Agent. Patrick McGee was of course a secret Agent on The Advengers.

    5. Robert Reed. Henderson worked with him in The Brady Bunch and Marshall worked with him in The Defenders.

    13. They both voiced talking animals. Wills was Francis the Talking Mule and Lane was Misted Ed.

      Great job, Jerome! I really liked Robert Reed in THE DEFENDERS. He and E. G. Marshall were convincing as father and son.

    #3 Both played Captains on television.....Hedison Capt. Crane on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Shatner as Capt. Kirk on Star Trek

    #7 There may be more than one connection, but the one that I thought of immediately was that they both starred in movies about dolphins. Connors in the original Flipper movie, and Scott in Day of the Dolphin.

      Indeed they were. DUEL is very good, of course, but I always thought SOMETHING EVIL was just OK. Haven't seen it in a long time, though.

    #12....James Garner was in a movie called "36 Hours" which was the original plot base for Mission Impossible’s best loved/critiqued episode Operation Rogosh. Where a villain is kidnapped and with elaborate sets and back story is duped into believing he is in an entirely different reality.
