Here are the rules: We will provide an "alternate title" for a classic movie and ask you to name the actual film. Most of these are pretty easy. Please answer no more than three questions per day so others can play. You may have an answer other than the intended one--just be able to defend it! Note that the alternate title may be a variation of the original title or plot description.
1. Incident at the Black Mesa Bar-B-Q.
2. Obsession with Carlotta.
3. Don't Water the Rocks!
4. King Kelly and the Wood Repellent.
5. Looking for Debbie.
6. Professor Challenger's Expedition.
7. Tumak Loves Loana.
8. Harry Worp's Body.
9. Wilbur's Brain.
10. Gull Cottage.
11. The Id Monster.
12. Mrs. Lane's Deceit.
13. Chris and The Other Six.
14. Dr. Robert Merrick.
15. The Midwich Children.
#8. The Trouble with Harry
ReplyDelete#15. Village of the Damned
Thanks for getting this month's game off to a great start!
Delete14 - Magnificent Obsession? (so bad it's good)
ReplyDeleteCorrect...and pretty much my assessment of Magnificent Obsession, too.
Delete11. Forbidden Planet
ReplyDelete5. The Searchers
Well done on both!
Delete10. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
ReplyDelete2. Vertigo
ReplyDelete13. The Magnificent Seven
ReplyDeleteAll three of your responses are correct!
DeleteStill need answers are: 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 12.
ReplyDelete#1 The Petrified Forest
ReplyDelete#4 It Happens Every Spring
#7 One Million Years, BC
Great job, Sue!
Delete6 = The Lost World (loved that movie growing up!)
ReplyDeleteOne of my faves as a kid, too.
Delete9. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Which, coincidentally, had as its original working title "The Brain of Frankenstein.")
ReplyDeleteAnd you are right!
DeleteI gave the answers to 1, 4, and 7 right after your post
ReplyDeleteYour comments didn't show up until later for some reason.
DeleteStill need answers to 3 and 12.
ReplyDeleteWe'll close out this game by providing the answers to the remaining questions. #3 is The Monolith Monsters, which admittedly was a difficult alternate title. #12 is Christmas in Connecticut. Barbara Stanwyck played Mrs. Elizabeth Lane, whose deceit is that she is not married. She lies about a lot of things actually.
ReplyDeleteNow that I know the answer to 3, I feel like doing a face palm. Good recall to come up with that movie.
