#1 Both actors played opposite Alan Hale, Jr.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Sue! In Gilligan's Island and It Happens Every Spring, respectively.
DeleteRicardo Montalban starred in "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", and his later co-star on "Fantasy Island" Herve Villechaize, starred in "The Man With the Golden Gun"
ReplyDeleteYou're on a roll, Sue!
Delete#6. Spiders! Charlotte's Web features the good-hearted arachnid. The Hound of the Baskervilles features Miles Malleson as Bishop Franklin who is an obsessed entomologist. Is that it?
ReplyDeleteYou are correct about eight-legged creatures being the link!
ReplyDeleteWell, your choice of artwork offers a bonus clue for #5. Both Harrison and Singer played movie title protagonists who could communicate with animals, Rex as "Doctor Dolittle" and Marc as "The Beastmaster."
ReplyDeleteWell done, Al!
DeleteFor #3, this might be pushing it, but all I can think of is both played masked heroes (or heroes with secret identities) - Leslie Howard as The Scarlett Pimpernel and Bruce Campbell as The Daring Dragoon in the how-come-more-people-don't-know-this-show Jack of All Trades (which I happen to be rewatching right now with my brother-in-law).
ReplyDeleteThat's a fascinating connection and I do remember Jack of All Trades (deserves to be on DVD...iffy quality on YouTube at one time). That said, there is another connection related to characters they played.
DeleteI thought that might be a little obscure, LOL! I'll keep my thinking hat on. Jack of all Trades is on DVD, cuz I own the set! Had it for several years though, so not sure if it's still available or not. The theme song for that one gets in my head and stays there like no other.
Delete7. Skydiving
ReplyDeleteThat's correct!
Delete13 Walter Pidgeon. Rogers Weekend at the Waldorf. Streisand Funny Girl
ReplyDeleteThat's a good connection, but there's also another one.
Delete14. Motorcycles
ReplyDeleteYes, motorcycle gangs!
Delete12. James Mason and Claude Rains both had women who were undercover pretend to be in love with them in Alfred Hitchcock movies, North by Northwest and Notorious, of course.
ReplyDelete"I too believe in neatness, Leonard. This matter is best disposed of from a great height, over water."
That is true, but there's also another connection!
DeleteHeavenly Mr. Jordans.
DeleteGreat job, Bill! Rains in HERE COMES MR. JORDAN and Mason in HEAVEN CAN WAIT.
Delete14.Samuel Z. Arkoff
ReplyDeleteTrue enough, but motorcycle gangs is what we were looking for.
Delete3. Both played characters named Ashley
ReplyDeleteStill looking for answers for questions 2, 8-11, 13, and 15.
ReplyDelete8. Snakes.
ReplyDelete11. Ice skating.
15. Julie Andrews. Just her magical name in the latter film.
Bill, you're right on all three, of course! There is another connection between SOUND OF MUSIC and BEDAZZLED.
Delete2. Olivia De Havilland Gone With the Wind and The Well Groomed Wife.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one, too. Another response is that both played professors: Ray Milland in IT HAPPENS EVERY SPRING and Lesley Howard in PIMPERNAL SMITH and PYGMALION.
DeleteMilland played a prof on his mid 50s tv show as well. I remember it well.
Delete2. Pygmalion and Kitty (meow...).
ReplyDeleteQuestions remaining are: 9-10, 13, and 15.
ReplyDelete13. Both played real entertainers.
ReplyDeleteAnd Dolly Levi.
Well done!
Delete10. Could it be that both The wolf Man & The List of Adrian Messenger feature fox hunts?
ReplyDeleteThat works..as does both films feature gypsies!
Delete#15. Julie Andrews (Sound of Music) and Dudley Moore (Bedazzled) Blake Edwards her husband directed them both in the movie 10.
ReplyDeleteThat is true! Also, both THE SOUND OF MUSIC and BEDAZZLED featured nuns (in the latter, Dudley Moore plays a nun).
DeleteThe last question remaining, #9, is kinda tricky. JANE EYRE and PETER PAN both have nannies. In PETER, the nanny is Nana, the dog. She could be considered more of a nursemaid than a nanny, which made this one a poor question.
ReplyDeleteJane Eyre was a governess, not a nanny.
